YOU CAPTURE: SWEET

This week's You Capture theme is Sweet.  Which was perfect, since I had to make cookies for my son's Pinewood Derby last night.  Triple Chocolate Mint.  The recipe is here, if you want to give them a try.

Be sure to check out all the other sweet shots over at I Should Be Folding Laundry.

SWEET SHOT TUESDAY

I went to a local garden this week to take pictures of the spring blooms and I came away with this.  I'm linking up to Sweet Shot Tuesday, where photographers can share their favorite shot from the week.  You really should go check out all the other beautiful photos.

SNEEK PEAK: JACLYN

Jaclyn is the oldest of the five sisters that I photographed this weekend.  She also happens to be a stunning, beautiful young lady.  I had so much fun taking pictures of these girls.  I hope they'll let me do it again sometime.

SNEEK PEAK: AMBER

Amber is one of my favorite people to photograph.  I love her eyes, her hair, her freckles . . . she's one of the most photogenic people I know.

SNEEK PEAK: COURTNEY

What can I say?  Besides being cute, Courtney is just fun to photograph!  She's always willing to try something new, and comes up with a lot of her own poses . . . like putting her feet up on the table.

SNEEK PEAK: SAMANTHA

Samantha is the fourth of five sisters . . . and just about the cutest 4th grader I've met.

SNEEK PEAK: HEATHER

One of the things I love about photography is that sometimes, people are willing to trade their time and talents for mine. Heather's grandma makes fabulous cakes, and so by photographing her five beautiful granddaughters, I have earned five birthday cakes . . . one for each person in my family!  Stay tuned, I'll be posting sneek peaks of Heather's sisters very soon.

YOU CAPTURE: FRESH

This week's You Capture them is Fresh.  Which sort of made me wish I had an outdoor clothesline.  I couldn't stop thinking about clean sheets blowing in the breeze.  But since outdoor clotheslines are probably in violation of the neighborhood covenants, I had to go with something else.  Luckily it's springtime, and everything is fresh and new . . .

April 12, 2010: Peanut Butter Pie
Sweet Shot Day

I made this pie yesterday, and it was a big hit.  Then I came across Sweet Shot Tuesdays, where photographers can go and link to their favorite shot of the week. Be sure to check it out.  There really are some great shots to see.  And since I had a great shot of something, well . . . sweet, I thought it would be fun to join.

If you'd like to make your own Peanut Butter Pie, you can find the recipe here on my recipe blog.

I ♥ FACES: DESSERTS

I'm so excited about this week's I Heart Faces challenge!  Because who doesn't love dessert?  This week's guest judge is Bakerella.  If you've never heard of cake pops, you really need to go check out her site right now.  Like many of you, I have a recipe blog (and I make my fair share of sweets) so it was really hard to choose my favorite dessert photo.  I ultimately decided on this photo of oreo truffles I made a few months back for Valentine's Day.  First, it's chocolate, which automatically puts it at the top of the "best desserts" list.  And it's one of the few photos I've taken where the food wasn't served up on a plate or in a bowl.

You can see more of my favorite recipes over at Let's Dish, but not until you go check out all the other yummy dessert photos at I Heart Faces.

HISTORIC OLD TOWN

I went downtown yesterday morning to scope out some new locations for a portrait session I'm doing next weekend.  I figured I might as well take a few shots while I was there.  I love all the old buildings and funky alleyways in the historic old town district.  I thought it would be a good time to practice using manual mode.  It's something I just don't do often enough.  Here are some of my favorite shots from the morning . . .
