CLYDESDALES

Guess who lives up the road about a mile from my house?  These guys.  Yep, it's those Clydesdale's.  The famous ones you've seen in beer commercials.

Sometimes, I'll see them pulling the famous red wagon up and down the road.  Job training, I guess you could say.

And sometimes, they'll be out in their pasture.  If I'm lucky, I'll have my camera with me.

I'll be honest, I am not a horse person (mainly because they make me sneeze) but there is no denying that these are beautiful animals.

I'm sharing these photos over at Sweet Shot Tuesday.

YOU CAPTURE: DEPTH OF FIELD

This week's You Capture Theme is Depth of Field.

Depth of field:  a measure of how much of an image, apart from the main subject, remains in focus. In other words, how much of the background and the foreground of the subject is sharp.

Most often, the focus will be on something in the foreground . . .

But sometimes it works to focus on something in the background . . .

DOWNTOWN DETAILS

I know I've said this before, but I just love the downtown area where I live.  It's full of old, historic buildings mixed with funky new shops and restaurants.  On my latest trip downtown, I tried to focus on the details.

I'm sharing at Sweet Shot Tuesday.  Go join the fun!

YOU CAPTURE: YELLOW

When I saw that this week's You Capture theme was Yellow, I had visions of spring flowers and blooms.  But the weather didn't cooperate, and since I don't have a yellow rain slicker, or a yellow parka (because yes, we got snow in May), I resorted to one of my favorite things to photograph . . . food.  Okay, I didn't really bake all these things up this week, but I did photograph all the fruit this week.  Thank goodness someone signed us up for the Fruit-of-the-Month Club, or I never would have had a papaya laying around the house.

If you have some of these . . .

You could make Grandma's Banana Bread . . .

or some Banana Pecan Buns.  Yummy!

And if you have some of these . . .

You could make this Creamy Lemon Meringue Pie.

And if you have one of these . . .

You should just cut it open and enjoy it!

If you need to brighten up your day, go visit I Should Be Folding Laundry for a whole lot of yellow!  And if you want to make yourself any of those tasty treats, click on the links to visit my recipe blog.

ONE YEAR OLD

I took first birthday photos of this little guy on Monday.  I just can't get over his cute linen suit, and his tiny tie, and the way he kept making faces and blowing his hair up.
