CHAIRS

This week at You Capture, we had three choices for our theme: green, hands, or chairs.  My first reaction was, "Oh, I'm not doing chairs.  It will be way too hard to take an interesting photograph of a chair."  But I decided to challenge myself.   So I wheeled this chair out of the office and into the kitchen (where the light was better) and this is what I got.

I ♥ FACES: PETS

This week's I ♥ Faces theme is pets, and photos of any animal can be entered.  This handsome prince of-sorts isn't a pet, but I think my kids all wish he was.

FAMILY HIKE TWO

We enjoyed our last family hike so much, we decided to try it again. We didn't go quite as far this time, but the terrain was a little more challenging.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our latest adventure.

I ♥ FACES: CELEBRATING TEENS

This week at I ♥ Faces it's all about teens.  It's my favorite age group to photograph, because we get to go to all the cool, funky spots around town.  This beautiful girl is my former neighbor.  We were doing a photo shoot with her and her four equally pretty sisters.  You can tell by the look on her face that they were all off-camera making her laugh.

Visit I ♥ Faces for more great photos of teens.

BUTTERFLIES

We spent some time at a local butterfly garden yesterday.  Of course, I took way too many pictures.  Here are a few (okay, a lot) of my favorites.

SNEEK PEAK: THE M FAMILY

Last fall, my 13 year-old's former first grade teacher had adorable twin boys.  It's hard to believe it's been that long since he was in her class.  I'd given her a photo session as a baby gift and we were able to get together for some pictures this week and last.  I had so much fun taking their photos!   The twins aren't identical, although I think one is identical to mom and one is identical to dad.  We got together last week, just to catch up, and I couldn't resist doing a mini photo shoot with the boys.  I mean, how many chances am I going to have in my life to photograph cute little twins like this?

They obviously like hanging out together, but apparently it can get old having someone else right there all the time.

But for the most part . . . best buds.

This week, we did another session with the whole family. See what I mean about looking like mom and dad?

YOU CAPTURE: WATER

This week's You Capture theme was water.  I had visions of turqoise swimming pools and children running through sprinklers.  The weather didn't want to cooperate though.  Luckily, the weather doesn't need to be quite as nice for fishing as it does for swimming.

Be sure to check out the other great water shots at I Should Be Folding Laundry.

SWEET SHOT TUESDAY: CUPCAKES

This week Sweet Shot Tuesday really is sweet!  Mini sour cream pound cake cupcakes.  The best thing about these little treats is that you can change up the batter to make all kinds of different flavors, like salted caramel-chocolate and citrus with ruby red grapefruit buttercream.  Yum!

Be sure to check out all the other sweet photos over at Sweet Shot Tuesday.  You can find the cupcake recipe here.

5,280 FEET

We spent some time in the mile high city over the weekend, and I took this shot of my boys--the big one and the smaller ones--on the steps of the state capital.  It was mid-afternoon, bad lighting, and I was in a hurry.  Plenty of other people wanted a photograph in the same spot.  But I love the way it turned out.  I think it just might be one of my all time favorites.

I'm sharing this over at Sweet Shot Tuesday.

Some of my favorite shots from our visit to the Botanic Gardens this weekend.
