YOU CAPTURE: BLACK AND WHITE

For this week's You Capture, I grabbed my camera and headed downtown.  I knew there would be a lot in an urban landscape that would look great in black and white. One of the great things about digital photography is the ease of changing photos from color to black and white.  It can totally change the mood and feel of a photograph. I love the Harley!  I'm also using it as my Project 365 photo for July 20.

I took my ten year-old with me on this photography excursion.  He's getting into photography and wanted to tag along.  We discovered a little concert going on in one of the downtown gathering spots.  We decided to grab an ice cream (shhhh! don't tell his brothers) and listen for awhile.

I love that so many people ride their bikes downtown.  There's even a bike library where you can check out a bicycle for the day!

Be sure to check out all the other black and white photos this week at You Capture.

FLOWER GARDEN

Every year, horticulture students at the local university plant a trial flower garden.  It's always fun to see (and take pictures of) the different flowers they grow each year.  There's always something new and beautiful.

I'm sharing this at Sweet Shot Tuesday.

PROJECT 365

July 9, 2010:  I don't think Rocky Mountain Ground Squirrel is the technical name for this little critter, but I learned this weekend during a visit to Rocky Mountain National Park that it is definitely not a chipmunk!  Either way, he's pretty cute.

PROJECT 365: WEEK 27

AMERICA

This week's You Capture theme was America.  We have a collegiate wooden-bat baseball league that plays here during the summer.  When we decided to take the boys to a game Saturday night, I knew it would be the perfect place to capture a little slice of American life.

You can read more about our fun filled evening here (including chocolate covered bacon and winning free Happy Meals for a year)!  And be sure to head over to I Should be Folding Laundry to see how everyone captured America.

NEGLECTED FLOWERS

It's been a busy summer, and I've had some un-edited flower photos sitting on my computer for a few weeks now.  I finally found the time and motivation to catch up today!
