SWEET SHOT TUESDAY: ORNAMENTAL CHILI PEPPERS

I was taking pictures at a local garden this week and saw these fantastic ornamental chili peppers growing among the flowers.  I assume "ornamental" means they're just for looks, not for eating.  What do you think?  An interesting plant to have in your flower garden, or just plain weird?

SNEAK PEEK FOR KAREN

My friend Karen is one of the sweetest, funniest people I know.  Seriously, she cracks me up.  Several years ago she moved about sixty miles away, and I rarely get a chance to see her.  So I was thrilled when she contacted me about taking her kid's school pictures.  She didn't want to spend lot's of money on the same old school portraits, so we met up at a local sculpture park for a photo shoot.  It's no suprise to me that her adorable children are some of the most photogenic kids I've met.  They were all smiles! Thanks Karen.

YOU CAPTURE: FLOWERS

This week's You Capture theme gave me the motivation to get out and photograph flowers one last time before fall arrives.  I knew just where to go.  Every year, horticulture students at the local university plant a trial flower garden to see what grows well and what doesn't. There are always hundreds of beautiful flowers and plants.  It's a photographer's dream!  I might have gotten carried away.  Don't say I didn't warn you.

SARAH

I've known Sarah since she was about eleven years old, maybe longer.  This week, I took her Senior pictures.  I knew we were going to have a great time when she told me she wanted photos in her ballet shoes.  At the laundromat.  The thing I love about Sarah is that she's never been afraid to be...well, Sarah!

This week's You Capture theme is photographer's choice.  This is definitely my choice for most fun photo shoot ever!  Did I mention we went out for burritos when we finished?  Sarah rocks!

YOU CAPTURE: SIGNS

I was really excited about this weeks You Capture theme.  I kind of like taking pictures of signs.  Is that weird? Regardless, I knew just the place to go to find lots of interesting signs . . .

I found these signs in the historic downtown area near my home.  Love that place! I could spend hours taking pictures there every day and always find something new to photograph.  To see more signs, check out I Should be Folding Laundry.

SWEET SHOT TUESDAY

I recently took school pictures at my children's former preschool.  The kids were all adorable, but this little lady was one of my favorites.
