PICTURE OF THE DAY 5/30/11

This will be my last post before I board a bus full of teenagers at 4:00 am tomorrow morning.  Wish me luck.  Or maybe you should pray for me.  Ha-ha!  They are all great kids we'll be travelling with and I'm sure we're going to have a wonderful time...despite the lack of sleep.

See you on the flip side!

PROJECT 64: YELLOW ORANGE

This week's color over at Project 64 is Yellow Orange.  I figured an orange would do nicely.

PICTURE OF THE DAY: WEEK 21

Busy, busy, busy . . . that's been the mantra around here this week.  Starting Thursday with end-of-school-year celebrations.  Then my friend and neighbor went into labor about 5:00 am Friday morning, so we watched her two younger boys while she added one more boy to the family!

 All this while trying to plan for a trip with our church's youth group.  Leaving Tuesday morning at 4:00 am! The trip has been in the works for over a year, but I was invited to come along at the last minute.  So I'm also getting things ready for grandma and grandpa, who are coming to stay with my younger boys.  Our oldest son and my husband will also be spending the next week on a bus full of teenagers!  You probably won't hear from me much this week, but hopefully I'll come home with some great photos to share.

PROJECT 64: ASPARAGUS

This week's Project 64 color is Asparagus.

And since I kind of like this one in black and white too, it's going to be my picture of the day for 5/22/11.

SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY

It's my favorite time of the week.  Scavenger Hunt Sunday time.  Here are this weeks finds.

{My Passion}
Street photography.  I pulled this one from the archives because it's one of my favorite street photography shots.

{Sound of Music}
I always love photographing my son's violin.  Such a beautiful instrument.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY PASSION

Do you have one thing you love to photograph more than anything else?  For me, it's street scenes.  Urban settings.  That sort of thing . . .

If I could have any photography job in the world, I'd be a photojournalist.

I've been working on this post forever.  Trying to choose a reasonable number of pictures.

Every time I think I've figured it out, I shoot more street scenes that I want to include.

I don't live in a big city. I live in an average sized city with a vibrant, eclectic downtown.  There are fancy restaurants and hot dog stands.  Thrift stores and high end boutiques.

Painted pianos that are just left out for anyone to play.

Historic old buildings that house funky, modern shops.

Lots of bicycle riders.

And motorcycle riders.

And did I mention bicycle riders? Unless, of course, you're in the dismount zone.  We can't have all those cyclists running down pedestrians.

I love knowing that every time I head downtown, I'll find something new to photograph.

I mean, you just never know when someone is going to leave their wagon parked outside the spice shop. You can see all of my street and urban photography here.

PICTURE OF THE DAY 5/17/11: BIRD NEST UPDATE

Remember the bird nest on the front door? The one with two eggs?  Now there are five!

I'm sharing at You Capture, where the theme this week is busy.  Because this mama bird has been pretty busy this week, and she's going to be even busier very soon!
